My world is a better place because of Dr Ahn. Being diagnosed with breast cancer is traumatic at least. You want a doctor who will hold your hand, keep you calm, and guide you. When I was told that I needed a double mastectomy, I explored the various reconstruction options. I decided on the Bilateral DIEP flap and met with a few plastic surgeons.
When I met with Dr. Ahn, I knew that I could place myself in her hands, and what skilled hands they are! She made me feel as if I was her most important patient. She is caring, empathetic and supportive. She became involved in every aspect of my surgery and recovery. The results of my reconstruction more than exceeded my expectations. Admiration for Dr. Ahn prompted a group of her patients, myself included, to nominate her for recognition by the Susan B. Komen Foundation. She was selected and presented with an award for her outstanding patient care at the annual Komen Race for the Cure in Central Park.
